LAS VEGAS (April 22, 2023) - The annual Polish festival at Our Lady of Las Vegas was an exciting event that showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Polish community. The festival, which was first held in 2019, was a celebration of Polish culture, food, music, and art. The Polish festival is to promote the Polish culture in Las Vegas and to support the Polish ministries at Apolstolate under the tutelage of Pope Saint John Paul II.
The festival was created to promote awareness and appreciation for Polish culture in the Las Vegas community. The second annual festival was held in 2023 after a gap due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and it proved to be an even more exciting and engaging experience than the first.
The festival featured a wide range of activities, including traditional Polish folk dancing and music performances, cultural exhibits, art displays, and an assortment of delicious Polish food and drinks.
One of the most anticipated activities at the festival was the traditional Polish dance performances. The colorful costumes and lively music were a true representation of the vibrancy and energy of the Polish culture. Visitors also saw cultural exhibits, which provided a glimpse into the traditions and customs of Poland.
Food lovers had plenty to indulge in at the festival. Traditional Polish dishes such as pierogi, kielbasa, and bigos were available, along with other popular Polish desserts and beverages. The festival's food vendors were carefully curated to ensure that visitors could experience an authentic taste of Poland. Fr. Gerry Grupczynski, SChr., Pastor of Our Lady of Las Vegas shared that this year over 30,000 pierogies were made!
The festival was a family-friendly event, and there were activities for children, such as face painting and crafts. Parents could relax while their kids were entertained, enjoying the festivities and learning about a new culture.
