LAS VEGAS (Feb. 26, 2025) — Students at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School were treated to a special visit from Archbishop George Leo Thomas, Ph.D. this week as he joined them for an all-school assembly filled with faith and fun.
“We wanted to invite Archbishop Thomas to visit SEAS School because of the way in which he is able to personally connect with each student in a spirit of genuineness and warmth,” said Len Urso, Principal at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. “It’s powerful to think that these interactions have created memories that our students will now carry forever.”
Gathering in the gymnasium, students had the opportunity to ask the Archbishop questions, ranging from his favorite Scripture passage to his thoughts on sports. One particularly curious student even asked about the small skullcap he wears, known as a zucchetto, prompting the Archbishop to explain its history and significance in the Church.
“It was wonderful to see how engaged our students were,” said Catherine Thompson, Superintendent of Catholic Schools. “Their curiosity and desire to learn more about Archbishop Thomas and our Archdiocese inspired all who were in attendance today."
The assembly concluded with a special moment as Fr. Jim Jankowski, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church presented the Archbishop with a Tiffany lamp as a token of appreciation. The visit ended with a group photo, capturing the joy and excitement of the day.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School continues to provide its students with opportunities to deepen their faith and connect with the broader Church, making this visit a memorable occasion for all in attendance.
