LAS VEGAS (September 28, 2022) - Members of the young adult community gathered at Tru Bru Organic Coffee with Bishop George Leo Thomas, Ph.D., on Thursday, September 22.
The event was part of a series that brings young adults from around the Diocese to build community and learn more about the Catholic faith. The theme for the night’s event was Q&A with Bishop Thomas. Some of the questions that were asked revolved around themes of prayer, discernment, and some eerie discussion on exorcism.
“One of the highlights for me was being with the young people of our diocese,” remarked Bishop Thomas. “Seeing young people on fire for the Catholic faith is an inspiration and gives me great hope for the future of the Church.”
Approximately 70 young adults attended the event.
“It was exciting to witness Bishop Thomas be present to a wide array of young adults from across the valley to listen and respond to their questions and desires for the future of this diocese,” said Hector Bautista, Youth & Young Adult Coordinator for the Diocese of Las Vegas.
Dara Franceschi, Theology Teacher at Bishop Gorman High School also attended the event. “It was a great privilege to have time with the Bishop as a young adult community to ask questions and learn more about what is going [on] in the diocese,” said Franceschi.
The event closed with the young adult community presenting Bishop Thomas with a picture of the Blessed Mother signed on the back by all in attendance.
The next Coffee & Creed is October 20 with Connie Clough, Director of Faith Formation for the Diocese at 6:00 p.m. in Henderson at Tru Bru Organic Coffee.
